Ramadan 1446/2025 begins on the night of Friday February 28th

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The blessed month of Ramadan 1446/2025 is upon us! The first Taraweeh prayer will be held at the Bosnian Islamic Centre (75 Birmingham Street) on Friday, February 28th, and the first fast will be observed on Saturday, March 1st.

We pray that this Ramadan brings you and your families immense blessings, mercy, and peace—a time of fasting, charity, worship, and togetherness for the entire Ummah.

We invite you to join us at the Masjid for communal prayer, reflection, and spiritual rejuvenation, standing together in worship before our Lord.

A Month of Spiritual Growth

Ramadan is a unique opportunity—a 30-day journey of self-improvement and closeness to our Creator. Let us make a collective effort to focus on three key areas:

  1. Deepen Our Worship – Increase our prayers, recitation of the Quran, and remembrance of Allah, polishing our souls and strengthening our connection with our Creator.
  2. Refine Our Character – Embody humility, patience, and kindness in our interactions, remembering that good manners are a hallmark of true faith.
  3. Give Generously – Extend our hands in charity, support those in need, and cultivate a spirit of generosity that benefits both our community and beyond.

May this Ramadan be a month of transformation, bringing us closer to Allah and to each other.

“My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.” رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا

Islamic classes begin Saturday 14 September, 2024

Dear parents, esteemed brothers and sisters!

Children are a great blessing for parents, but also a great test and obligation. What is better and more precious than healthy, educated and well mannered children? While many admit this, very few parents watch over their children with this belief in mind.

Many parents believe their responsibilities from Allah to their children are fulfilled if they leave behind a house, apartment, cottage, or expensive car, while neglecting character and education.

However, let’s start with the assumption that not all parents are negligent and most care for the education and upbringing of their children.

NEW HIJRI 1446 YEAR BEGINS ON SUNDAY 7 OF JULY 2024.

Assalamu Aleykum Brothers and Sisters,

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.

As we enter the new Islamic year, it’s important to reflect on the blessings and lessons that come with the passage of time.

Allah, in His infinite wisdom, has created the sun, moon, night, and day to serve us and remind us of His countless blessings. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of valuing good health and free time, urging us to reflect on our deeds as each year passes. As we bid farewell to the past year, we must remember that our actions will be shown to us on the Day of Resurrection. It is crucial to engage in self-examination, recognizing our shortcomings, and striving for improvement. As Allah says, “Allah alternates the day and night. Surely in this is a lesson for people of insight.” (Surah Al Nur 24:44)

The first month of the Islamic year, Muharram, is a sacred time, marked by its historical significance and the recommendation to fast, particularly on the day of Ashura. This day commemorates Allah’s victory for Prophet Musa over Pharaoh and carries immense reward, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) hoped it would erase the sins of the previous year. Let us begin this new year with renewed commitment to our faith, by performing our prayers, seeking knowledge, being kind to others, and abstaining from sins. As each day brings us closer to our end, let us provide for our Hereafter with piety and righteous deeds, making this year a positive turning point in our lives and in our communities.

We wish you happy and blessed NEW YEAR!
