Udhiya/Qurbani Announcement 2026/1447

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
Respected Brothers and Sisters,

Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the unwavering faith and willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (a.s.) and his family to make the ultimate sacrifice. It is a reminder for all of us to sacrifice selfishness, envy, greed, falsehood, slander, suspicion, and distrust—so we may grow closer to our families, friends, neighbors, and ultimately, to Allah.

The act of sacrificing an animal is not merely symbolic; it encourages believers to purify themselves of negative traits and to strengthen unity within the family and the community.

The sacrificial animal represents obedience and devotion to Almighty Allah and the willingness to persevere patiently on His path.

Drawing closer to Allah also means drawing closer to people—through compassion, trust, and mutual respect.

Special Note:

  • Any Muslim household that possesses wealth above the nisab threshold (equivalent to 91.5 grams of gold—about $20,450 CAD this year) is required to offer a Qurban (sacrifice) during Eid al-Adha.
  • The estimated cost of a Qurban in Toronto this year is around $500 CAD (cash). You can arrange a Qurban locally through Kabul Farm Supermarket:
    • Toronto: 416-244-7656
    • Mississauga: 905-306-1888
  • If you’re unable to fulfill this obligation locally, you may arrange Qurban to be sacrificed in Bosnia through this masjid. The cost is also $500 CAD.
  • Payments for Qurban in Bosnia can be made either in person at the mosque or online via www.bictoronto.com, using Mervice or The Masjid App, under the “KURBAN” category, by May 25, 2026.

May Eid-ul-Adha revive our faith and renew our hope for a better and happier life.

May your sacrifice and all your good deeds be accepted, and may they bring the blessings of Allah the Almighty and goodness to you and your loved ones!
